STUDY PERMIT
Foreign student is temporary resident who is legally authorized to study in Canada on a temporary basis. With a few exceptions, foreign students must get a study permit if they are taking a course of studies that will last for more than six months in duration at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
Deciding what you want to do after you finish high school is not always easy. There are so many types of jobs to consider, and lots of education and training options to think about. Here are some things to think about when choosing a school: course content, programs that are available, prerequisites needed, size of the school, location of the school, cost, distance from home, housing, sports, student life.
Students can apply for Work Permit after graduation (PGWP). Study permit holder can work part-time during school year.
In 2019, 827,586 international students held valid study permits in Canada. Of these, 402,427 new study permits were issued (a 15% increase from 2018).
