Obtaining a Canadian citizenship is one of the best achievements you could get while staying in Canada. You will be given an opportunity to exercise your fundamental freedoms and diverse rights like right to vote. For the fourth year in a row, Canada is ranked the top country to live in when it comes to quality of life.

 

According to the 2019 Best Countries Report, Canada took home the winning score based on health care, public education, safety, solid job market and politically stable landscape.

 

Before you apply for citizenship, check the documents you got when you first became a permanent resident to make sure you met all terms and conditions.


To be eligible to become a Canadian citizen, you must:​

be a permanent resident

have lived in Canada for 3 out of the last 5 years

have filed your taxes, if you need to

pass a citizenship test

prove your language skills
